you are cherry now and later’s®

before it gets all rat poison in my gut I’m gonna lie down on the sidewalk in front of your apartment & pretend it’s railroad tracks. I been walking up & down your street since like 1992. now all I think about is you & you know I’m sweet on you, would sing my favorite mr. t experience songs to you over the telephone. you can call me anything you want but I am not your saltwater taffy & sometimes you shuttlecock me. I think about sleeping with you in the sleeping pill heart of the afternoon: wanna wiretap your clavicle. dance church clothes. rhythm your blues.
